Workshop Overview - music solutions

Why Have a Workshop?

Drumming and rhythms have always been at the forefront of tribes and communities for centuries.  They encourage positivity and boost moral.  It is also a great international language that anyone can understand.  Drumming also brings together communities in celebrations to encourage and energise those around them. The workshops are a great way of developing communication, teamwork and leadership skills, all great keys to personnel development.  It is also great fun and an excellent introduction into the music of other cultures.

Who runs the workshops?

The workshops are taken by the Drumming Solutions tutors.  We have male and female tutors to suit your specification.  All are CRB checked and fully trained experienced workshop leaders having led a wide variety of workshops at carnivals, schools, businesses and youth groups.  They will work individually or together as a team to provide your group or workforce with a great experience.

What Happens during the Workshop?

You will be taught amazing Brazilian rhythms that will give you an excellent insight into a carnival atmosphere and the Brazilian culture. And by the end of the workshop you will be able to complete a performance involving the native rhythms you have learnt including call and response. This can all be recorded for no extra charge. (We can record your experience on a video camera for an extra fee of £100. This will be burnt to a DVD and sent to you). You will be taught how to lead your own band and then for those brave enough to step up to the challenge, there will be the opportunity to lead your band in front of others.

The workshops can involve up to anywhere from five people to 50 or more with all the instruments needed to create that unique sound and atmosphere. All the instruments provided are easy for any ability to use and play.
